Climate change protester invades Louis Vuitton fashion show - Yahoo Singapore News

The Louis Vuitton Fashion Show in Paris wasn’t any different than others. The main purpose of a runway is to educate people about various fashion trends. While the runway was filled with enormous, sparkling, sheer gowns and glamor on Tuesday. Surprisingly, a climate change protester invaded Louis Vuitton fashion show. Yes, you read it right, someone gatecrashed the Fashion Show.

Many organisations and members of the general public are working hard to increase awareness about climate change and the potential ramifications for the planet. Many fashion brands are swearing by the values of sustainable fashion for a better and brighter tomorrow. The show was on the move but with a message from the woman. She voices for Amis de la Terre France, Youth for Climate and Extinction Rebellion.

Overconsumption = Extinction

The activist carried a black fabric banner that read, “Overconsumption = Extinction,” with the names of the aforementioned organisations emblazoned beneath the statement. According to a statement issued by the Extinction Rebellion, approximately 30 persons were involved in the organising of the protest. Two are behind the arrested.

Amis de la Terre France says it targets the LVMH-owned label to throw a spotlight on the issue of overconsumption. “LVMH is the world leader of luxury. They have a responsibility when it comes to trends. Trends that push the textile industry to constantly renew collections faster and produce more,” Alma Dufour, told Reuters.
